To tackle the problem of sexual harassment of Women at their workplace, the Government of India, by a Notification dated December 9, 2013 passed the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (the “Act”) which became effective from December 9, 2013.
According to the act there are some compulsory obligations for employers such as: formation of ICC, holding awareness programs etc. If an employer fails to perform these duties, he will face strict legal action. Know more about the law
